Gas Liquids Engineering Ltd. (GLE) completed EPCM services for a carbon capture project for Wolf Midstream. CO2 generated at the North West Redwater Partnership (NWRP) Sturgeon Refinery and the Nutrien Redwater Fertilizer Facility is captured, compressed, and sent to the 610 mm (24”) Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL) to the Enhance Energy Clive Oil Battery and other producers in the vicinity. Startup occurred in October 2019.
The Main CO2 Compressor Station compresses 84 MMSCF/d (4400 t/d) of dehydrated CO2 from the North West Redwater Partnership (NWRP) Sturgeon Refinery into the Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL). The CO2 enters the facility at 1430 kPaA and is compressed to 18,000 kPaA. Installed equipment includes:
The Nutrien facility produces hot CO2/water vapour steam. 15 MMSCF/d (800 t/d) of recovered CO2 is compressed and pumped to 18,000 kPaA into the Alberta Carbon Trunk Line (ACTL). Installed equipment includes:
